Leicestershire Farm Discovery Programme Officer

Salary: £30,000 + travel expenses
Hours: Full-time, 35 hrs/week (mix of delivery and programme support)
Contract: 3‑year fixed‑term contract
Base: Home‑based with travel across Leicestershire

We're seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and adaptable Programme Officer to help bring food, farming, and the countryside to life for primary‑aged children with the fewest opportunities. This unique role blends hands‑on delivery of farm visits across Leicestershire with operational programme support for our national Farm Discovery team.

What you’ll do

Delivery (Local)

  • Lead inspiring, safe, hands‑on farm visits for children across Leicestershire.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local farmers and schools.
  • Tailor experiences that spark curiosity and help children connect with food, farming, and the natural world.

Programme Support (National)

  • Support the smooth running of the national Farm Discovery programme.
  • Manage data, budgets, and reports to ensure high‑quality, consistent delivery.
  • Help refine systems, support meetings and recruitment, and contribute to programme monitoring and development.
