Job summary

A facilities management company in the UK is seeking an experienced Legionella Risk Assessor to focus on the water industry. Responsibilities include conducting legionella risk assessments both manually and electronically, ensuring proper completion of risk assessment paperwork, and undertaking operational work to meet contractual commitments. The ideal candidate will have a qualification in risk assessing, strong IT skills, and experience in the water treatment sector, along with knowledge of relevant guidelines and regulations.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Legionella Risk Assessor focusing on the water industry. You'll be responsible for carrying out legionella risk assessments manually and electronically, ensuring that risk assessment paperwork and reports are completed correctly and returned and carry out other operational work from time to time to ensure contractual commitments are met. You will also undertake legionella risk assessments in accordance with:

Legionella Risk Assessment Guidelines
  • Approved Codeof Practice (ACOP) L8 (Fourth edition
  • Technical guidance documents of HSG274
  • British Standard code of practice for Risk assessing BS8580-1 2019
  • Health Technical Memorandum 04-01: SafeWater in Healthcare Premises
Ideal Candidate
  • A qualification in a City and Guilds Risk Assessing course (or equivalent) and experience in Legionella risk assessing.
  • A wide knowledge of the above risk assessment guidelines as well as sufficient experience in working in the water treatment industry and a strong knowledge of health and safety.
  • Commercially aware and have good planning skills, strong IT literacy, ability to use a PDA to evidence compliance and productivity, and be able to draw schematic diagrams.
  • Have a full UK drivers' licence with less than 6 points and be able to work as part of a team and under your own supervision.
