Legionella Remediation Engineer

Responsibilities

As a Legionella Remediation Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting a range of remediation and plumbing works in a customer-facing role.
  • Installing and correcting water system issues based on internal and external reports across various client sites.
  • Tasks such as installing new hot water cylinders (in line with G3 regulations), removing dead legs, cleaning and removing cold water storage tanks, servicing installations, and disinfecting water systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with company method statements, risk assessments, and health and safety policies.
  • Assisting in the training and development of junior team members.
  • Supporting quality control processes to maintain LCA certifications.
  • Completing and signing all necessary paperwork to meet legislative, licensable, and financial requirements.
  • Representing the company professionally, providing specialist advice and consultancy services to clients.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of Legionella Guidance HSG274 and ACoP L8 Guidance.
  • City & Guilds Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent, Cert-ain G3 Unvented & Vented Hot Water Storage Systems, and City & Guilds Disinfection of hot and cold water systems in buildings.
  • Ideally, hold a CSCS Blue Card and Cert-ain Water Regulations.
  • A full, valid driving license.
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) at grade C or above.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • A solid understanding of health and safety in relation to Legionella work.
  • Excellent customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility with working hours.
Day-to-Day

Your daily tasks will involve:

  • Visiting client sites to carry out remediation and plumbing works.
  • Installing, maintaining, and disinfecting water systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Providing guidance and training to junior team members.
  • Completing necessary documentation and maintaining quality standards.
  • Representing the company professionally while delivering exceptional customer service.
