Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a commercially driven Legionella Commercial Technical Lead in Essex to join a growing water hygiene division. The role blends business development with hands-on technical expertise in Legionella compliance and domestic hot/cold water systems.

You will identify opportunities, prepare proposals and RAMS, and support clients with technical solutions while balancing commercial objectives and compliance. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in water hygiene, water treatment or Legionella compliance.
• Proven track record in business development and securing commercial contracts.
• Strong technical understanding of domestic hot and cold water systems, ACoP L8 and HSG274.
• Experience producing technical proposals, tenders and RAMS.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• Ability to balance commercial objectives with technical quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and secure new commercial and industrial contracts within water hygiene and Legionella compliance.
• Generate leads through networking, prospecting, referrals and industry events.
• Develop existing client relationships, identify cross-selling opportunities and expand service offerings.
• Prepare, scope and price technical proposals, tenders, remedial quotations and bids.
• Conduct technical site audits to ensure quality of delivery and compliance with contract specifications.
• Prepare and review complex risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
• Provide expert technical advice on domestic hot and cold water systems, including complex Legionella-related issues.
• Support clients with remedial solutions and technical escalations.
