Job summary

A law firm in Southampton is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their close-knit Conveyancing team. The role involves providing audio and copy typing support, managing diaries, and handling client inquiries. Ideal candidates will have previous experience as a Legal Secretary, particularly in Conveyancing, and possess strong organisational skills. This is a full-time permanent position with a supportive working culture.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably in Conveyancing.
  • Strong audio and copy typing skills are required.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ideally Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong audio and copy typing support.
  • Manage diaries, organise meetings, and handle daily workflow.
  • Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries with professionalism.
  • Assist with client bills and prepare documentation.
  • Maintain files and ensure all documentation is accurate.
  • Support the Fee Earner with general administrative duties.

Location: Southampton

Salary: £26-27,000 per annum | Permanent

Hours: Full time, 09.00- 17.00

Are you an experienced Legal Secretary looking to join a warm, supportive and family-orientated law firm?

Do you enjoy being a key part of a close-knit Conveyancing team where your work genuinely makes a difference?

We have a fantastic opportunity at our clients office near Southampton , supporting one experienced Fee Earner alongside another Legal Secretary in a friendly, non-commercial environment. This role has become available due to a long-serving team member's retirement, a testament to the stability and culture of the firm.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing strong audio and copy typing support
  • Managing diaries, Organising meetings and handling daily workflow
  • Handling telephone and face-to-face enquiries from clients and third parties with confidence and professionalism
  • Assisting with client bills, reporting and preparing documentation
  • Maintaining files, drafting correspondence and ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Supporting the Fee Earner with general administrative duties as required
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary (Conveyancing preferred)
  • Strong audio and copy typing skills
  • Good knowledge of Outlook, Word and ideally Excel
  • A confident, friendly telephone manner
  • Excellent organisational and diary management skills
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently
