Are you an experienced Legal Secretary looking for a new challenge that goes beyond traditional secretarial work?

This company is a highly regarded Leicester-based law firm, is seeking a Legal Secretary (5+ years' experience) to play a key role supporting both the legal team and the firm's compliance function, particularly within their growing consultancy programme.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strong organisational and technical skills with a keen eye for detail and risk management.

The Role

You'll be providing high-level administrative and compliance support across the firm, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to professional standards.

This is not a purely typing or diary management role — it\'s ideal for someone who enjoys process, accuracy, and working within a quality-focused environment.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the firm\'s compliance processes and assisting with file reviews.
  • Monitoring and maintaining accurate records within the firm\'s case management and compliance systems.
  • Assisting with the compliance and onboarding elements of the firm\'s consultancy programme.
  • Identifying potential compliance or risk issues and escalating where appropriate.
  • Providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support to the wider legal team as needed.
About You

You'll be an experienced Legal Secretary with at least 5 years' experience in a law firm environment. You\'ll have strong system and organisational skills, and a genuine interest in compliance and process improvement.

You will also bring:

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies or risk issues.
  • Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and dependable approach — comfortable working with minimal supervision.
  • Experience within a compliance, quality assurance, or risk context (advantageous but not essential).
