Job summary

Make UK is seeking a proactive Legal Secretary in Birmingham. Hybrid role, combining local office duties with remote work and occasional travel to other UK locations. You will support HR and Legal teams across the Midlands and the North, managing busy caseloads and ensuring timely tribunal handling.

You will provide comprehensive administrative support, including diary management, document preparation, and hearing bundles, while maintaining high standards of confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a legal administration or legal secretarial role.
  • Excellent typing and audio typing skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritise a busy workload and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • A proactive, flexible and positive approach.
  • GDPR awareness or training.
  • A full UK driving licence (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Manage advisers' diaries, appointments and tribunal deadlines.
  • Process and update matters on the CRM system.
  • Coordinate requests for advice and support the Adviceline service on a rota basis.
  • Prepare, collate and index tribunal documentation.
  • Produce and amend both physical and electronic hearing bundles.
  • Correspond with members, third parties and employment tribunals.
  • Monitor tribunal deadlines and maintain accurate case records.
  • Raise requisitions for counsel fees and track the approval process.
  • Provide audio typing and general administrative support.
  • Organise legal seminars, employment law updates and events, including venue bookings and delegate management.
  • Handle telephone enquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Support colleagues across the wider business as required.

Are you an organised, detail-oriented legal secretary who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We're looking for a proactive Legal Secretary to provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to our HR and Legal teams across the Midlands and the North.

Working closely with experienced legal advisers, you'll play a key role in ensuring employment tribunal cases are managed efficiently, deadlines are met, and members receive exceptional service.

About You
