Job summary

Allen Lane is seeking a Property Solicitor to join its public sector legal team in Guildford. You will provide specialist advice on a broad range of property matters, from acquisitions to landlord and tenant work, and support regeneration and asset management projects.

You will work with senior stakeholders and external partners, drafting and negotiating complex agreements and delivering practical, risk-aware guidance for colleagues and decision-makers.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor, barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with current practising certificate.
• Strong property law experience including acquisitions, disposals and landlord/tenant work.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and a varied caseload effectively.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to provide clear and pragmatic legal advice to both legal and non-legal audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist legal advice on a wide range of property-related matters across the organisation.
• Manage a varied caseload of commercial and public sector property work from instruction through to completion.
• Draft, review and negotiate legal documentation relating to land and property transactions.
• Support the acquisition, disposal, leasing and management of land and property assets.
• Advise on landlord and tenant issues, licenses, easements, wayleaves and other property interests.
• Work collaboratively with internal departments to support regeneration, development and asset management projects.
• Represent the organisation in meetings, negotiations and, where appropriate, legal proceedings.
• Ensure legal advice is delivered in a practical, solution-focused and risk-aware manner.
• Keep abreast of legal developments and emerging best practice relevant to property law and the public sector.
