Job summary

A global industry leader in mining and energy is seeking a Legal Counsel to support their operations in a hybrid capacity. The role involves drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, providing legal advice on corporate and finance transactions, and advising on litigation and risk management. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years PQE, preferably with experience in a mining and energy environment. This position may evolve into a permanent role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a relevant legal area.
• Experience in a mining and energy team, preferably in private practice.
• Relevant in-house experience is advantageous.

Job description

Global industry leader in the mining and energy sector is looking for a Legal Counsel to join their team on an initial contract basis with potential to go permanent.

Hybrid working, central London location.

You will have a broad remit of responsibilities supporting their mining operations including:

• commercial contract drafting and negotiation including operational and project related agreements
• corporate and finance support on transactions
• working closely with the procurement and construction teams providing legal and commercial advice
• advising on litigation, risk management and general legal matters
• instructing external counsel when required

You will be 2+ years PQE as a guide preferably with training and experience gained in a mining and energy team in private practice. Relevant in-house experience in a similar environment would be advantageous.
