Job summary

GetGround is seeking a UK-qualified solicitor to join our Legal, Risk & Compliance team, offering practical, commercially minded legal and regulatory guidance as we scale. You’ll handle commercial contracts, product and regulatory matters, and corporate/legal support across the business, working closely with cross-functional teams to manage risk and keep GetGround compliant.

This role suits a lawyer with ~2+ PQE in-house exposure who enjoys a varied, collaborative environment and opportunities

Qualifications

• Qualified UK solicitor with around 2+ years PQE and some in-house experience.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of digital law, the tech regulatory landscape and how regulation applies to fintech or financial services products.
• Intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn and pick up new areas of law quickly.
• A strong risk radar and commercial mindset, giving the business practical advice, not just legal analysis.
• Comfort working independently and owning your workload.
• Clear, concise communication skills, written and verbal and great stakeholder management skills.
• A collaborative approach and genuine interest in the business, not just the legal matters.

Job description

We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to join GetGround’s Legal, Risk & Compliance team, giving practical, commercially minded legal and regulatory advice as we scale.

You’ll advise on commercial contracts, product questions, partnerships, regulatory matters and disputes, and work on projects that strengthen the function as the business grows. You’ll be a trusted partner to teams across GetGround and a key part of how we manage risk day to day.

What You'll Be Doing

Commercial and Contracts

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, partnership contracts, and customer terms
• Advise business teams on contractual risk and help them make informed decisions quickly
• Maintain and improve GetGround's contract templates, playbooks, and standard terms
• Support the management of external counsel on matters requiring specialist input

Product and Regulatory

• Provide legal input on new product features, customer journeys, and platform changes
• Advise on FCA regulatory requirements as they apply to GetGround's products and services
• Support compliance reviews of customer-facing content and regulated communications
• Help track relevant regulatory developments and flag implications for the business

Corporate and General Legal

• Support on corporate matters including fundraising, corporate governance, and company secretarial work
• Advise on data protection and privacy matters, including GDPR compliance
• Provide general legal support across the business on employment, IP, and operational matters
• Help build scalable legal processes, templates, and training materials

About You

You're a UK qualified solicitor with around 2+ years PQE and some in-house experience. You bring:

• A high level of attention to detail, and strong legal drafting skills
• Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills, with an eye for detail
• A good understanding of digital law, the tech regulatory landscape and how regulation applies to fintech or financial services products
• Intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn and pick up new areas of law quickly
• A strong risk radar and commercial mindset, giving the business practical advice, not just legal analysis
• Comfort working independently and owning your workload
• Clear, concise communication skills, written and verbal and great stakeholder management skills
• A collaborative approach and genuine interest in the business, not just the legal matters

Highly desirable:

• Experience with property, mortgage, or investment products
• In-house experience at a fast-growing fintech
• Exposure to data protection, GDPR, or privacy work
