Job summary

A legal services firm based in Milton Keynes is seeking a part-time Legal Cashier. This role requires a minimum of 3 years’ legal accounts experience and involves responsibilities such as processing client funds, managing firm finances, and providing financial support. The ideal candidate will ensure strict compliance with regulations and contribute to the firm’s reputation for trust and integrity. Legal Cashier (Part-Time) – Hours to be discussed

Office based role – Milton Keynes

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with and under the direction of the full-time Accounts Manager, the Legal Cashier will support the firm’s financial and administrative operations, including:

  • Client Money Handling: Processing receipts, payments, and transfers for client funds, ensuring strict separation and compliance.
  • Firm Accounts: Managing the firm’s own finances, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Bookkeeping & Reporting: Recording daily transactions, reconciling ledgers, and preparing financial statements.
  • Financial Support: Responding to financial queries from clients and staff and liaising with banks.
Other Office Duties
  • Stationery ordering & stock room maintenance
  • File archiving and liaison with legal archive company
  • Supplier and contractor liaison
  • Support for Accounts Manager and Partners
  • Record keeping
  • Organising staff cover when required

To be considered for this role you will need 3 years legal accounts experience.
