Job summary

Pure Resourcing Solutions is seeking a Legal Cashier for a Norwich-based position with on-site working and some flexibility. The role involves daily bank reconciliations, handling incoming monies via Internet Banking, processing payments, and checking and processing client bills in a busy legal practice.

You will also verify client balances, coordinate with fee earners to clear balances, and assist with queries by email, phone or Zoom while maintaining a high level of service and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile the firm's bank accounts daily.
• Handle incoming monies via Internet Banking and allocate promptly.
• Process payments out of the firm's accounts by electronic payment or cheque.
• Check and process bills for clients.
• Verify client balances and coordinate with fee earners to clear balances after completion.
• Transfer costs and disbursements as needed.
• Liaise with clients by phone to take card payments.
• Support fee earners/secretaries on all financial matters via email, phone or Zoom.
• Log all incoming cheques and arrange postings as required.

An exciting role has arisen with a well-regarded legal firm in Norwich for a Legal Cashier.

The role:

• Reconciliation of the firm's bank accounts daily
• Dealing with incoming monies via Internet Banking, ensuring funds are investigated and allocated promptly
• Dealing with payments out of the firm's accounts by either electronic payment or cheque payment
• Checking and processing bills;
• Checking client balances and working with fee earners to clear following completion, ensuring balances are returned promptly;
• Transferring costs and disbursements;
• Liaising with clients by phone to take card payments
• Providing support to fee-earners/secretaries on all financial matters and assisting with queries as they arise, either by email, phone or zoom
• Ensuring all incoming cheques received are logged, and postings requested where required; and

Skills required:

• Knowledge of the client accounting system, including reconciliation to bank accounts
• Desirable to have knowledge of SRA rules and regulations relating to client accounts
