Job description

Excellent opportunity for a Legal Bookkeeper to support a busy legal practice with the day‑to‑day management of office and client accounts. This role is ideal for someone with strong bookkeeping skills who's confident working in a regulated environment.

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate ledgers, completing monthly reconciliations, managing payments, and ensuring compliance with client‑money rules. The firm uses Advanced One, so experience with this system is a bonus, though not required.

The practice is open to part‑time or flexible hours, making this a great opportunity for someone returning to work or balancing parenting commitments.

Person Specification
  • Strong bookkeeping experience (ledgers, reconciliations, journals, VAT).
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a regulated or compliance‑heavy environment.
  • Able to work independently and manage strict deadlines.
  • Good understanding of data protection and confidentiality.
  • Comfortable learning new systems and processes.
  • Spreadsheets, Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Experience / Advantageous
  • Previous legal bookkeeping experience.
  • Handling client money (e.g. property, estate agency, professional services).
  • Experience using Advanced One or other legal practice management system.
  • Experience preparing three‑way reconciliations.
