Job description

HCB Widdows Mason is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Post Completion team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth transition of property transactions after completion, and it is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to support clients and solicitors in the final stages of residential property transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing post-completion documentation and processes, including registration with the Land Registry.
  • Preparing and submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax returns and ensuring timely payment.
  • Communicating with clients, solicitors, and other relevant parties to gather necessary information and documents.
  • Monitoring case progress and ensuring all compliance requirements are met.
  • Conducting final checks on completion statements and other financial documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate records in the case management system and ensuring confidentiality.
  • Providing administrative support to the team as required, including scheduling and managing appointments.
  • Assisting with reception duties and other general office tasks as needed.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines.
  • An understanding of property law and post-completion processes is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a legal environment is preferred but not essential.
