Overview

We are seeking a Commercial Property - Legal Assistant to join a professional services team in Reading. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting legal professionals with administrative and organisational tasks in the Commercial Property department.

Client Details

Our client is a professional services firm located in central Reading. As a well established organisation, they provide comprehensive legal services to their clients and are looking for a dedicated individual to join their team in the Commercial Property Department.

Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare correspondence, including dictation
  • Draft transaction documents and prepare final versions using DocuSign
  • Complete transaction forms (e.g., Land Registry, SDLT)
  • Open and close client files and prepare engagement letters
  • Manage diaries and emails for fee earners
  • Handle telephone enquiries professionally
  • Provide general transaction support and ad hoc duties as required
Profile

Experience & Attributes

Essential:

  • Minimum 1 year of commercial experience as a Secretary, Administrator, or PA in a legal/property environment
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Comfortable liaising with clients via phone and email
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident using IT systems
  • Excellent keyboard skills

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a property team
  • Familiarity with Land Registry and SDLT processes
