A professional recruitment agency is seeking a Legal Assistant to support a Partner in a busy team. The role involves managing conveyancing transactions, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with Land Registry processes. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in conveyancing and excellent organizational skills. This is a full-time office-based position in Milton Keynes, Monday to Friday.

Job description

We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join a busy and professional team. This role involves supporting a Partner with all aspects of conveyancing transactions, including sales and purchases, file set-up, and handling new build and shared ownership properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with property transactions including transfer of equity and mortgage matters.
  • Liaise with estate agents, solicitors, and clients throughout the process.
  • Raise and respond to enquiries, secure mortgage funds, and manage client communications via telephone, email, and in-person meetings.
  • Undertake anti-money laundering and conflict checks.
  • Prepare or review sales contracts and collate supporting legal documentation.
  • Manage transactions from instruction through to completion.
  • Work closely with the Accounts Department to review source of funds and wealth.
Additional Duties:
  • Liaise with the Land Registry and manage portal submissions.
  • Upload information and handle SDLT applications and requisitions.
  • Assist with management company requirements and stamp duty regulations.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience in conveyancing support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Land Registry processes and SDLT applications.
