Job summary

Wates in Leeds is seeking a Design Manager to lead the design process from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring information is coordinated, compliant, buildable and aligned with programme, cost and quality objectives.

You will lead multidisciplinary design teams, review information, manage risks and support bid submissions, planning and handover, collaborating with clients, consultants and supply chain to deliver successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience managing the design process from pre-construction through to completion.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, design coordination and buildability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience on medium to large construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the design process throughout the project lifecycle to align with requirements and delivery programmes.
• Review design information, manage design risks and support resolution of technical challenges.
• Support pre-construction activities, bid submissions, design strategies and planning, and assist during construction and handover.
