Job summary

A leading UK manufacturing group is seeking a Financial Controller based in Leeds. The successful applicant will manage the general ledger and ensure compliance in transactions while supporting financial closing activities. The ideal candidate must be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong experience in a manufacturing environment. Additional skills in Xero and Excel are essential. This full-time role offers a salary of up to £50,000 and various benefits including a combined 8% pension and 28 days annual leave.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) required.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment essential.
• Strong Xero knowledge, IT proficiency including Excel and ideally Power BI needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, purchase & sales ledger.
• Prepare, post, and review journal entries ensuring documentation and accuracy.
• Ensure regulatory and policy compliance in all transactions.
• Support month and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Oversee invoice processing and maintain inventory control.
• Fulfill payroll requirements.
