Job description

Responsibilities
  • Lead and teach modules across undergraduate and postgraduate Biosciences programmes.
  • Develop curriculum, academic and pastoral support, and quality assurance processes.
  • Engage in pedagogic scholarship, external engagement activities, and participation in School citizenship (e.g., open days, committees).
Qualifications
  • Relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification (or HEA Fellowship).
  • Proven experience in high‑quality teaching and assessment within Biosciences.
  • Experience designing engaging learning materials, leading modules, supporting students, and contributing to curriculum enhancement.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, experience using VLEs such as Blackboard, and ability to apply pedagogic research to teaching practice.
  • Experience designing practical classes, delivering teaching in areas such as Haematology, Transfusion Science, Microbiology, Physiology, or Anatomy, and supporting external engagement activities would be advantageous.
  • A satisfactory DBS clearance is required for this role.
