Barking & Dagenham College is recruiting a Lecturer – Maths to work full‑time and permanent at our community college in Romford, Greater London.

The salary for this role is £25,494 – £44,526 per annum, inclusive of London weighting, depending on qualifications and experience.

Key responsibilities
  • Plan and develop lessons, including the development of schemes of work.
  • Develop and implement learner‑centred assessment methods, with constructive and developmental feedback.
  • Encourage, monitor and report on attendance, progress and achievements of students.
  • Ensure safe working environments for students and colleagues, enforcing health and safety standards.
  • Provide personal coaching and pastoral support for designated students to aid their development and future progression.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments in the specialist area to ensure relevance and employability of students.
  • Actively participate in continuing professional development around theory and practice within the education sector.
Qualifications, skills and experience
  • Hold an appropriate teaching qualification and have experience teaching in the Further or Higher Education sector.
  • Good administrative skills, capable of accurately tracking students’ attendance, progress and achievements.
