Job summary

A UK educational institution is seeking a committed and flexible Skills for Work Lecturer to deliver high-quality learning to adult learners aged 19+, primarily those who are unemployed or economically inactive. Lecturer in Skills for Work

£27,185 to £41,014 pro rata, per annum

The Role

We are looking for a committed and flexible Skills for Work Lecturer to deliver high-quality learning to adult learners aged 19+, primarily those who are unemployed or economically inactive.

You will teach across a variety of programmes from Entry Level to Level 2, helping learners develop essential employability and life skills that support their journey towards work.

What we are looking for

You should have GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths (or UK equivalent) and a recognised level 5 teaching qualification or willingness to work towards.

You should also have minimum Level 3 subject specialist qualification (please confirm the subject in your application), or a willingness to work towards.

Main duties include
  • Teaching and attendance as required by contract
  • Setting, assessing and recording of learners’ work according to the procedures outlined by the appropriate awarding body
  • Assisting the Head of School on all matters relating to quality, curriculum and resources
  • Maintaining registration systems and all records required by College monitoring procedures including timetabling where appropriate
  • Providing returns and records for College and external use, preparing reports and references for students as necessary
  • Implement and promote curriculum development, participating in course reviews and evaluations and other curriculum procedures as required, coordinating the team where appropriate
