The Electrical & Electronic Engineering programme at the University of Salford is currently undergoing a period of strategic growth and now seeks to appoint a talented individual to the role of Lecturer in Power Electronics.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver teaching material across a range of modules within the subject area, including broader teaching as required.
  • Identify areas where current provision is in need of revision or enhancement with particular focus on Power electronics.
  • Undertake individual or collaborative research projects of relevance to the School and University.
  • Identify external sources of funding and develop or contribute to funding bids - research, knowledge transfer and engagement grant applications.
  • Take a lead in own area of expertise, advocate for Smart Power technologies.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong research portfolio in power converter design, modelling, hardware realisation, and control, with relevance to electrification challenges such as renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, and/or sustainable transport. Experience with advanced converter architectures and their deployment in control system is desirable. Candidates should hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering and demonstrate experience in teaching Power electronics in Higher Education.
