Motor Vehicle Lecturer – Truro and Penwith College

We are one of the UK’s top-performing colleges and proud to be the National Apprenticeship Provider of the Year 2025. Our Occupational team delivers high-quality courses and apprenticeships across multiple trades, and we are now looking for a Motor Vehicle Lecturer to join our successful Automotive team.

Overview

We require a vibrant and committed lecturer with the ability to inspire students and maintain excellent working relationships within a high-performing automotive department.

Responsibilities
  • Teach a range of courses within the Automotive department, including Level 1 and Level 2 full-time students studying the IMI Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Support industry training such as MOT Tester and Electric Vehicle (Level 3 and Level 4).
  • Teach light vehicle apprentices up to Level 3.
  • Manage a tutor group.
  • Offer flexibility across courses within the department.
Qualifications
  • Recognised trade qualifications.
  • High quality teaching and ideally hold a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Commitment to the delivery of an outstanding learning experience to our students.
  • Desirable experience of teaching Motor Vehicle.
  • No prior teaching experience considered; willingness to complete the initial teacher training qualification expected.
  • Non-qualified applicants will be considered and paid on a non-qualified lecturer scale.
