Job summary

Dovetail and Slate Limited is seeking a Lecturer in Motor Vehicle to join a further education provider in London, delivering motor vehicle programmes to learners aiming for careers in the automotive industry. This is a permanent role with an ASAP start date.

You will plan and deliver practical and theory-based sessions, assess learner progress, maintain a safe, well-organised workshop in line with health and safety requirements, and help learners achieve qualifications and progress to employment

Qualifications

• Relevant industry experience in motor vehicle repair, maintenance or related trade.
• A recognised motor vehicle qualification at Level 3 or above.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage and motivate learners.

About the Role

You’ll join a further education provider in London, delivering motor vehicle programmes to learners working towards a career in the automotive industry. This is a permanent role, ASAP start date.

You’ll plan and deliver engaging, practical and theory-based sessions, supporting learners to develop the technical skills and knowledge they need to progress into employment or further study.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering motor vehicle lessons that meet the needs of all learners.

• Assessing learner progress and providing constructive, timely feedback.

• Maintaining a safe, well-organised workshop environment in line with health and safety requirements.

• Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and progress towards employment or further study.

• Keeping up to date with developments in the motor vehicle industry and reflecting these in your teaching.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Relevant industry experience in motor vehicle repair, maintenance or a related trade

• A recognised motor vehicle qualification at Level 3 or above

• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate learners

Desirable (but not essential):

• A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one

• Experience teaching or assessing in a further education setting

If you don't yet hold a formal teaching qualification, this need not be a barrier — full training and support can be discussed with the recruiting team.
