Salary: Up to A GBP 32,199 per annum + benefits (depending on qualifications and experience)

The Role

Within the Group, Maths and English skills are in high demand. In this role, you can influence and contribute towards the Colleges provision in this key area.

As a Lecturer in English, you will have the opportunity to impart your knowledge and expertise to learners and make an impact on the wider community.

You will deliver GCSE English and Functional Skills Literacy to full-time students and adults. You will work in well-equipped onsite classrooms and online through the virtual learning environment, using Google Classroom.

The role is to equip students with skills for their future through the delivery of outstanding education and training and to inspire students to achieve their potential. This role offers daily job satisfaction and a rewarding teaching experience.

Responsibilities
  • Develop creative resources to inspire outstanding learning and monitor and track learner progress to promote positive outcomes.
  • Work effectively as a motivated team player with colleagues and management to achieve strategic and organisational objectives.
  • Hold at least an A Level (or equivalent) qualification in English or above and either have, or be willing to work towards, a teaching qualification. Ideally, hold a degree qualification in a chosen subject.
  • Engage learners by bringing the subject to life using practical, theoretical and digital methods to develop skills for the future.

Department & Reporting

Your line manager will be the Deputy Manager for English and Maths. You will regularly report on objectives to update the Maths and English Lead regarding KPIs including student recruitment, retention, anticipated achievement, attendance and punctuality. You will be part of a Curriculum and Department team and may participate in cross college teams or working groups on key projects.
