Lecturer in Criminology & Public Services

Location: Rotherham

Salary: up to £32,199 a year (depending on experience and qualifications + benefits)

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full time (37 hours each week, all year round)

About the Role

The College is looking to appoint a lecturer with experience in delivering criminology and public service-based lessons. The successful applicant will provide high‑quality teaching, learning, assessment, and internal moderation across a range of courses up to and including Higher Education. This includes teaching from levels 1 to 4 across different awarding bodies such as Skills Education Group (Access) and NCFE.

The successful applicant will undertake course and/or module management as directed by their Line Manager and be expected to contribute to planning, preparation, marking, tracking of learner progress, communication with students, parents/carers and external stakeholders, student recruitment and enrolment events, personal development activities, and invigilation.

The role is to equip students with skills for their future through the delivery of outstanding education and training and to inspire them to achieve their potential. It is a daily opportunity to make a real difference.

Department Info

You will work as part of the curriculum team of Sport & Public Services at Dearne Valley College and take direction from the Curriculum Team Leader. You will be line‑managed by the Curriculum Manager.
