Lecturer in Criminology (Level 3)

£30,000 – £37,500 per annum (full‑time, 37 teaching hours per week)

The Role

As Lecturer in Criminology, you will:

  • Deliver and teach WJEC Level 3 Criminology (and potentially some Sociology content) to further education students.
  • Plan and prepare engaging lessons, learning materials and assessments appropriate for Level 3 learners.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, provide feedback, and support students' academic development.
  • Conduct tutorials, support students' personal development, career guidance and further education preparation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and continuous improvement of teaching provision.
Essential Qualifications
  • Minimum Level 4 qualification (e.g. degree) in Criminology, Sociology or a closely related discipline.
  • Teaching qualification, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Strong subject knowledge in criminology, with the ability to make the subject accessible and engaging to Level 3 students.
  • Clear communication skills, commitment to student success, and ability to support adult and further education learners.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Prior experience teaching in Further Education and working with learners aged 16+.
  • Experience teaching WJEC Level 3 Criminology.
