We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Highways Maintenance Lecturer to join our dynamic Construction Team. Industry professionals with no prior teaching experience are strongly encouraged to apply. We understand that transitioning from industry to education is a big step. That’s why we will support you through a structured development programme, including mentoring, classroom shadowing, and guidance to achieve a recognised teaching qualification.
Those with previous Lecturing experience will have a track record of excellence in assessing and teaching that will allow you to deliver highway maintenance at Level 2. You yourself will hold a relevant construction or related qualification at Level 3 or above and you will have the industry experience that allows you to contextualise your teaching with specific examples. You will also be able to evidence professional development that gives you currency in the sector and will hold, or be working towards, a relevant teaching or assessing qualification, or be willing to take further training to achieve this goal.
As Highways Lecturer, you will be responsible for student learning, curriculum development, pastoral care, and administration. Sharing your skills and knowledge, developing and maintaining high levels of student retention and attendance.
This post attracts a recruitment and retention premium with a salary up to £42,149 per annum.
This is a permanent, full‑time post working 37 hours per week and the starting salary will depend upon an individual’s level of experience.
