Salary: £25,494 - £44,526 per annum, including London Weighting, depending on qualifications and experience.

The Role

You'll provide inspiration, skill and practical experience to students across our department's courses. You'll also contribute to the development of our course offer, building on our innovative provision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and develop lessons, including the development of schemes of work
  • Develop and implement learner-centred assessment methods, with focus on constructive and development feedback for our students
  • Encourage, monitor and report on the attendance, progress and achievements of students
  • Ensure safe working environments for students and colleagues, enforce health and safety standard in your area, ensuring all students understand and comply
  • Undertake personal coaching and pastoral responsibilities for designated students in order to support them in their own development and future progression
  • Keep abreast of industry developments in your specialist area to ensure the relevance and continued employability of our students
  • Actively participate in continuing professional development around theory and practice within the education sector
Qualifications and Experience
  • Hold a teaching qualification (E)
  • Have recent, relevant and successful experience of teaching functional skills and English to learners from Entry Level to Level 2, preferably within a Further Education college (E)
  • Evidence of recent teaching and assessment in delivering functional skills English programmes, with a proven track record of successful delivery within English (E)
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and team development skills and have the ability to contribute to the team and its goals. Be able to support colleagues within the team (E)
