The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is seeking a professionally accredited registered psychotherapist and/or counsellor. The School requires a qualified practitioner to teach on our Level 4 Adult part time day (Tuesdays and/or Thursdays), but may also include teaching across other Counselling programmes, including Levels 2, 3, and Level 5 (Wednesdays).

You’ll take responsibility for teaching, marking and providing tutorial support for Counselling courses and you’ll contribute to all aspects of the work of the Section/School and this will include occasional ‘out of hours’ activities (such as selection days, interviews, and open events).

As our Lecturer, we’d like you to hold a professional qualification to practice in Counselling or Psychotherapy (minimum L6 Diploma or Honours Degree), be a practicing member/accredited of BACP, UKCP or an equivalent professional body (or willing to gain this), with 3 year s post qualification experience. You’ll hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards) with experience as a teacher of counselling to at least level 3 or above or a similar level/on a similar subject.

With a supervision qualification or experience of providing clinical supervision to groups or individuals in a counselling setting, you’ll be able to assess students work/skills and be a creative, resourceful and effective educator able to convey knowledge, support the development of skills and maintain boundaries whilst providing a warm and empathic relationships with students. Ideally you’ll be familiar with national educational standards; and BACP awarding/validating body requirements for the appropriate level.
