Job Title: Lecturer - Business and Accounting

Location: East London

Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week (1 FTE)

Salary: £28,424 - £44,457 per year

Contract Type: Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive lecturer to join our Business and Accounting team. You will be expected to teach across both Business and Accounting courses. You will be responsible for teaching on the AAT courses across various levels with mainly adult learners. You will also be teaching study programme learners on BTEC Enterprise as well as T Level Management and Administration and Accounting. You should be an experienced teacher with a track record of assisting learners of all ages to achieve high levels of success.

To be considered for the role candidates will need to hold an AAT or equivalent qualification in Accounting.

You will have gained a degree in a relevant subject area such as Business, Leadership, and management etc. Ideally have a teaching qualification or willingness to achieve this. You will also have knowledge of a range of vocational related topics such as business law and generic business strategies.

In addition, you will have experience in delivering outstanding teaching; supporting learners to succeed and developing positive working relationships with stakeholders.

You will have the skills to ensure the College meets the needs of the learners well and that the support is innovative and responsive to emerging trends and needs. You will also have good interpersonal skills and experience of using information systems and databases.

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the teaching programme of the College including Levels 1-5 in line with Awarding body specifications. In addition, you will have other general curriculum responsibilities including assessments, tracking student achievement and administration of courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach across Business and Accounting courses, including AAT courses across various levels with mainly adult learners.
  • Involve in teaching study programme learners on BTEC Enterprise and T Level Management and Administration and Accounting.
  • Deliver outstanding teaching, support learners to succeed, and develop positive working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Support the needs of learners with innovative and responsive approaches; use information systems and databases effectively.
  • Undertake assessments, track student achievement, and administer courses as part of general curriculum responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • AAT or equivalent qualification in Accounting.
  • Degree in a relevant subject area such as Business, Leadership, and Management.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to achieve this (ideally).
  • Knowledge of vocational topics such as business law and generic business strategies.
  • Experience delivering outstanding teaching and building positive relationships with learners and stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience with information systems and databases.
