An exciting opportunity has arisen at Arts University Bournemouth to contribute to our dynamic BA (Hons) Costume course as a Lecturer for a fixed-term maternity cover position.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is well informed on the subject of costume interpretation, to teach all aspects of costume interpretation and costume supervision across the three years of study. The post holder will be flexible in their approach to costume education as a whole and committed to a student led approach to teaching and learning. A strong understanding of the practical application of costume cutting and surface decoration at a standard suitable for Level 4 students, surface decoration and fitting etiquette for film and theatre is required. In addition, the post holder must have a comprehensive understanding of costume supervision for theatre, including budgeting, alterations and the compilation of supervision bibles, and an understanding of costume breakdown.
The post holder will have experience within industry and be capable of the demands of teaching at degree level. The successful candidate will devise briefs, lead and deliver inspiring workshops and lectures, support individual Level 6 students with Costume Supervision projects, and be actively involved in the assessment process.

In meeting your performance expectations, you’ll receive an annual salary increase in line with the grade of your role.
