Plan and Deliver Learning

What We’re Looking For
You’ll Need
  • A relevant subject qualification (e.g. degree or equivalent).
  • A recognised teaching qualification.
  • Level 2 English and Maths (e.g. GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
  • The ability to plan and deliver effective, inclusive teaching for diverse learners.
  • Knowledge of subject‑specific pedagogy and current teaching practices in further or higher education.
  • Clear communication and strong organisational skills.
  • Confidence using digital tools to support learning.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and ongoing professional development.
Role Description

Newcastle College invites applications from dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about education and student progression. We are searching for a qualified and dynamic individual to join our team as a Lecturer. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering and assessing high‑quality learning experiences. Your responsibilities encompass monitoring student retention and progress, implementing timely interventions to ensure all students meet their targets. Effective communication with parents/guardians, external agencies, and the curriculum and support teams is paramount. You will drive high standards in teaching and learning, fostering an environment conducive to student success. Demonstrating patience, empathy, and a positive outlook will be essential in supporting student development, whilst remaining calm and composed in challenging situations to provide a nurturing learning environment.

The ideal candidate will hold an honours‑degree level or an equivalent industry recognised standard, and hold a post‑16 teaching qualification, and Level 2 English and Maths, or be committed to achieving them within an agreed timeframe. Experience delivering effective education/training in FE, HE, or Apprenticeships, along with a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice is highly desirable.

Exceptional communication skills, oral and written, coupled with digital literacy are prerequisites. The ability to manage workload effectively, meet deadlines, and adapt to flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends as demand dictates is crucial.
