Job Description
  • Customer service: Acting as the primary point of contact for leaseholders regarding queries about service charges, lease terms, repairs, and property management issues.
  • Leasehold administration: Managing leasehold agreements, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and processing lease extensions.
  • Service charge management: Working with the rent and service charge lead to calculate annual service charges, including increases, sinking funds and appropriate Section 20 notification process. Working closely with housing colleagues around the collection of leasehold charges, rent and service charges, providing transparent breakdowns of costs, and managing any disputes. Ensuring that all regulatory and legislative processes are adhered to, including Section 20 process.
  • Staircasing support: Working collaboratively with the sales and marketing team to assist leaseholders with the process of buying additional shares in their property to achieve full ownership (staircasing).
  • Compliance: Ensuring that all relevant housing legislation and regulations and ensuring all activities adhere to legal requirements.
  • Financial management: Review, evaluate and monitor leaseholder accounts, identifying potential arrears, breach of leases and taking appropriate action to collect outstanding payments, or enforce lease conditions.
  • Relationship building: Maintaining positive relationships with leaseholders to support sustainability within communities. Maintain compliance with all relevant and JRHT company policies and procedures.
The Successful Applicant
  • Evidenced experience of shared ownership schemes, leasehold law, and relevant housing regulations.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle complex queries and concerns.
  • Proven experience in dealing with leasehold agreements, supporting leaseholders, managing expectations and conditions within leases and where appropriate taking the relevant enforcement action.
  • Proven experience of dealing with complex financial information and a proven ability to manage budgets and deliver service charge process and communications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications for managing leaseholder data and transactions.
