LOCATION: Plymouth/Remote with the Totnes as a base
FUNCTION: ROC College
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Curriculum Manager
ACCOUNTABLE FOR: Supporting students and overseeing administrative processes
HOURS: Full time 37.5 hours per week
SALARY: £14.18 per hour

United Response is a registered charity, founded in 1973. Our mission is to ensure that individuals with learning disabilities, and mental or physical support needs, have the opportunity to live life to the fullest. We support around 2,000 people across more than 300 locations in England and Wales, with over 3,600 staff members.

ROC College, a part of United Response, is a specialist college providing person-centred, community-based teaching and learning within Cornwall, Devon, and Somerset. We work with young people aged 16–25 who have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from applicants who:

  • Have experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities in an educational setting.

  • Can manage data and administrative tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Are strong communicators, highly organised, and confident with IT systems such as MS Office.

  • Hold GCSEs (A–C in English and Maths) or equivalent.

  • Have a Level 3 AET (Award in Education and Training) or equivalent teaching/tutoring qualification.

Knowledge of safeguarding practices, SEND support, and a commitment to collaboration are essential.

What to Expect

As a Learning Tutor (Admin), you will:

  • Plan and deliver bespoke educational programmes for students aged 16–25.

  • Input and manage student data, including attendance, targets, and behaviour plans.

  • Support with lesson planning, resources, and quality assurance.

  • Oversee transitions, gather learning records, and maintain contact with parents.

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding protocols and statutory requirements.

  • Work closely with Curriculum Managers, Learning Mentors, and families to provide tailored support.

  • Encourage independence by introducing students to meaningful community experiences.
