Job description

Hours: 40 hours per week Term Time (Hours 08:15-16:15) - Part Time positions available (part time is 4 full days a week or 3 full days a week)

We are delighted advertise the post of Learning Support Workers at Alderwasley Hall School – we have full time and part time positions!

This is a term time post, based in our nurturing school. We are seeking individuals who can provide support to our young people, the teachers, the curriculum and the school during the education day. You will be creating a happy, safe and caring environment, which enables our students to learn and communicate with confidence.

About us

Alderwasley Hall School and Sixth Form provides exceptional education for day and residential students aged 5 to 20. We transform the lives of young people with High-Functioning ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), Asperger’s Syndrome, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and Developmental Language Disorder. We are also highly experienced in meeting associated diagnoses and needs, such as Selective Mutism, anxieties and phobias. Our goal for every one of our students is to be happy and healthy with a sense of belonging and purpose.

  • Basic understanding of SEND children and their needs.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • GCSE English & Maths at C or above
  • NVQ Level III (Teaching Assistant)
  • SEND Understanding and Knowledge
