Learning Support Worker (The Chase)

Location: Stroud Campus

FTE Salary: Up to £24,312.00 (salary dependent on qualifications and experience)

Actual Salary: Up to £18,057.03

Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time only

Working Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Support high‑needs learners to develop confidence and independence to prepare them for adulthood. Work with a person‑centred approach to enable learners to fulfil their potential within a highly differentiated learning environment.

Meet the provisions of identified learners with EHCPs in the following areas:

  • Communication & Interaction
  • Cognition & Learning
  • Social, Emotional & Mental
  • Sensory/Physical
  • Self‑care & Independence

Support the young people in the Chase, either 1:1, in‑class or out‑of‑class, to achieve their EHCP and developmental outcomes, aspirations, goals & qualifications.

Work collaboratively with curriculum staff in class and in the community to support learner progress and achievement and complete administrative responsibilities required to provide support to the above learners and to record progress and achievement.

Skills and Expertise
  • Ability to follow direction and support learners in a range of activities both on and offsite
  • Have understanding and/or experience of supporting people with learning disabilities/autism and/or complex needs and/or behaviours of concern
  • Effectively communicate with staff at all levels, professionals and families external to the College as well as with the students we support using communication aids as required
  • Be confident in using own initiative when required
  • Have strong IT skills and be able to manage own time and work under pressure
  • Be a strong team player
