Job summary

A leading educational support organization in Manchester seeks an Inclusion Support Assistant to provide support to learners with SEND. The role involves assisting with learning activities, contributing to learner development, and maintaining learner records. A Level 3 qualification, GCSEs in English and Maths, and experience with SEND are required. This temporary position offers a pay rate of £16 to £18 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting young people with SEND in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs, safeguarding, and inclusive learning practices.
  • Current DBS required.

Job description

Job Title: Inclusion Support Assistant
Location: Manchester
Type: Temporary / Full Time
Rate: £16 - £18 per hour

Start date: ASAP until 14th November 2025
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and small group support to learners with SEND, fostering independence and progress.
  • Assist with the delivery of learning activities both in and out of the classroom.
  • Contribute to the development and review of learners' SMART targets, EHCP outcomes, and progress records.
  • Collaborate with tutors and curriculum teams to implement adaptive teaching strategies.
  • Support learners' wellbeing, personal development, and inclusion within the college community.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential learner records in line with college policies and safeguarding requirements.
  • Participate in enrichment activities, college events, and learner forums.
  • Provide personal care and emotional support where required, maintaining dignity and respect.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Level 3 qualification (or working towards)
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting young people with SEND in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of EHCPs, safeguarding, and inclusive learning practices
Desirable
  • Qualifications in supporting learners with SEND or equivalent (e.g., Teaching Assistant, Child Protection, First Aid, Counselling)
  • Experience in a post-16 education setting
