As a Learning Support worker with Reed FE, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with SEND
  • Adapting to learners needs according to their choice of study
  • Manage and respond to behavioural episodes calmly and effectively
  • Assist in the physical movement of students around the site if required
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff according to their EHCP plan
  • Promoting independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
  • Maintain detailed progress reports of your students

To be eligible for this role, you will need to have, or be willing to work towards:
  • A teaching assistant qualification ( not essential )
  • Experience supporting with learning difficulties or disabilities
  • Previous experience working with 16-19-year-olds in an educational, support or youth worker setting
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • A current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
