We are currently recruiting for a school in the Calderdale area. The role is for a Learning Support Assistant to work with students with special educational needs & disabilities (SEND). Previous experience with groups of children or young people with SEND needs including Autism (ASD), profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and other complex learning and medical needs is required. Starting immediately, there are full‑time and part‑time options available for this position.

Duties include:
  • To attend to the pupils' personal needs, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters.
  • Supporting pupils who may have complex medical needs and who may need emergency medical support.
  • Supporting pupils who require additional support with communication and speech difficulties.
  • Providing support to pupils who need assistance with personal care.
  • Feeding pupils and assisting them with drinking.
  • Supporting pupils who may need to be lifted and carried and/or transported in wheelchairs.
