Job summary

A supportive educational institution in Wigan is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide personalized support for students with special educational needs (SEN). Overview

Tempest Education are working with a Secondary School in Wigan. The school is OFSTED graded 'GOOD'. The School are looking to appoint the Learning Support Assistant as soon as possible.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting in the implementation of personalised learning plans for SEN students
  • Offering 1:1 and small group support for children with ASD.
  • Helping create a nurturing, positive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting classroom activities and adapting resources to meet students' needs
  • Encouraging social, emotional, and academic development
  • Collaborating with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to deliver targeted interventions
Requirements
  • Experience working with children, especially those with SEN, is highly desirable
  • Patience, compassion, and a positive approach to supporting children's learning
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for working in education and helping children succeed
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Minimum 6 months experience within a School environment
