What skills and experience we're looking for

TEACHING ASSISTANT / LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

REQUIRED on a FIXED TERM CONTRACT from January 2026 to July 2026.

31.25 HOURS PER WEEK IN TERM TIME ONLY (39 weeks per year) 8.35am - 3:20pm.

Salary Range ME4 point 4 (£29,025 Full Time Equivalent).

Responsibilities
  • Support children with their learning, both in the classroom and in small groups.
  • Work with children with additional needs who find it challenging to access the curriculum.
  • Deliver interventions to small groups of children across a year group.
  • Support individual children to meet the outcomes set out in their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Qualifications & Experience
  • Particular interest and enthusiasm for working with children and supporting learning.
  • Experience of caring for or working with primary aged children.
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills: English & Maths GCSE, C or above.

Previous experience of working with children with additional educational needs is desirable, but training and support will be available. Applicants will need to use their initiative and adapt quickly to the needs of the children, while having a willingness to learn and receive direction from others.
