About the role

Are you passionate about making a genuine difference in a young person's life? We are working with a SEN school near Towcester that supports children and young people aged 4‑18 with Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). The school is currently seeking a compassionate and committed Learning Support Practitioner to join the team as soon as possible. Part‑time availability will also be considered for the right candidate.

The school is looking for someone who is dedicated to helping pupils communicate in a variety of ways and who can confidently connect with and motivate learners with diverse needs. Prior experience supporting children or adults with Special Educational Needs would be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering personalised support to pupils with autism, SLCN and SLD across different age groups and ability levels.
  • Working alongside class teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored programmes and interventions.
  • Encouraging the development of communication using tools such as visual supports, PECS, AAC, Makaton or other appropriate strategies.
  • Assisting pupils with emotional regulation, sensory processing and developing independence skills.
  • Contributing to individual learning plans and monitoring pupil progress.
  • Supporting positive relationships and ensuring the welfare and wellbeing of pupils at all times.
