Job description
Role Overview

Learning Support Practitioners provide educational support and care to students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities across the college. You will provide support, either one-to-one or for small groups of students, in class and across unstructured time.

Responsibilities
  • Enable full understanding of the curriculum and overcome barriers to learning
  • Assist teaching staff by supporting students and guiding their learning
  • Help with mobility and personal care needs in college and on off-site visits
  • Provide out-of-class support to students over lunch and break times
  • Proactively liaise with tutors
Qualifications
  • Level 3 qualification or above
  • Support for people on the autistic spectrum
  • Support for students with emotional and/or behavioural issues
  • Support for people with severe learning difficulties/disabilities
  • Support for people with medical conditions
  • Knowledge and understanding of ICT and assistive technology
  • Support for students with visual impairment
  • Support for students with hearing impairment

Compensation

Salary: £22,405 to £22,958 per annum. Plus benefits, including a generous occupational pension scheme.
