Qualifications

  • Experience supporting learners with SEND.
  • Experience with EHCPs or exam access arrangements is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and support teams.
  • Help meet EHCP outcomes.
  • Use assistive technologies for learning.
  • Set, track, and review SMART targets.
  • Contribute to assessments and planning.

Learning Support Practitioner

Salary – £21,966.47 actual salary

Hours – 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Contract – Permanent

Location – Peterborough

What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support sessions, helping students develop independence and self-management strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with teaching staff and support teams to deliver a tailored, graduated approach to support.
  • Help ensure Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes are met, preparing students for adulthood and the next steps in education or employment.
  • Use assistive technologies and digital tools to enhance learning and promote independence.
  • Set, track, and review SMART targets to help learners progress towards their academic and personal goals.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, support planning, and exam access arrangements.
  • Maintain accurate records aligned to ALS (Additional Learning Support) funding.
  • Signpost learners to internal and external services, working closely with the Wellbeing and Safeguarding Teams.

Other advantages

Experience with EHCPs, exam access arrangements, or working across multi-disciplinary teams would be an advantage, but full training and support will be provided.
