Learning Support PractitionerLocation: Bicton – Salary: £23,684.44 FTE (CC23) - pro-rata salary for part-time role: £13,294.80 plus holiday pay £1,943.09, total £15,237.89 / £14.11 per hour*

Terms & Conditions: Part Time (30 hours per week / 36 weeks per year) Support Contract

About the Role

We are seeking a Learning Support Practitioner to play an active role in delivering our Additional Learning Support (ALS) provision for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

In this role, you will provide one-to-one support, helping an individual to achieve their learning goals while developing independence, life skills, and employability skills. You may also work with learners who experience communication challenges, behavioural or emotional difficulties, and social anxiety. As a Learning Support Practitioner, you will encourage learners to build independent study skills and adopt strategies that empower them to take ownership of their learning journey.

Hours of Work

This role is on a part-time basis; 30 hours per week, 36 weeks per year (term-time only).

Skills & Experience

Experience within a similar role, perhaps as a Teaching Assistant or in a Support/Carer role would be beneficial. A commitment to inclusive learning and a willingness to gain an understanding of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential, as is a sensitive and caring approach to learners and trainees. Literacy and numeracy qualifications, or a willingness to work towards Level 2 are essential (we will provide and fund your qualification(s) with us).
