Job summary

Huntingtower Community Primary Academy in Grantham (West) is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant for morning and afternoon sessions to help pupils access the curriculum, including those with special needs. The role requires computer literacy (MS Word, Outlook, Excel) and English and Maths GCSEs at A-C, with Level 3 qualification or in progress.

Training and lunch-time cover may add hours. This position is based on school hours, with potential additional hours for lunch cover;

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade A-C are essential.
• Level 3 qualification or working towards is essential.
• Proficient with MS Word, Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support students to access the curriculum in and outside the classroom.
• Assist pupils, including those with special needs, to develop academically and socially.
• Provide lunch cover when required and support classroom activities.

Job description

Huntingtower Community Primary Academy is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work mornings daily, 8.50am-12.10pm and afternoons 1.10pm-3.15pm. As we provide lunch cover for some of our children, there is the possibility of additional hours that would be claimed for monthly.

We are a primary school (4-11 year olds) situated in the west part of Grantham and part of the successful Priory Federation of Academies Trust. We pride ourselves as being part of a widely diverse community and are fully committed to ensuring all pupils and their families are fully supported in achieving their goals.

Learning Support Assistants play a vital role in ensuring all of our students can effectively access the curriculum both in and outside the classroom. This vacancy would suit an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about working with students including those with special needs, supporting them to develop from both an academic and social perspective.

The successful candidate should be computer literate and have worked with MS Word, Outlook and Excel. English and Maths GCSE grade A-C are essential together with previous experience of having worked with students. Level 3 qualification or working towards is also essential.
