Learning Assistant – West Durrington

Northbrook College (West Durrington), part of the Chichester College Group

Hours: 15 hours per week, 36 weeks per year

We are recruiting for a Learning Assistant who will support students requiring additional help with their studies, create positive relationships and assist them in a classroom or workshop setting. The role involves working with students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, including emotional, social, behavioural and mobility needs. Your work will help ensure students have an outstanding and fulfilling experience at college.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with additional learning needs and disabilities, delivering tailored assistance in classroom or workshop environments.
  • Build positive relationships with learners, promoting confidence and inclusion.
  • Assist teachers in managing classroom activities, ensuring accessibility and engagement for all students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support staff and learning teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience of working with young people with additional learning needs and disabilities is essential.
  • Effective organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding children and adherence to Disclosure and Barring Service checks.
