About the role Pay Details: Grade 4 £25,583 - £26,403 (Pro Rata) spinal point 5-7, £13.26 - £13.69 (Per Hour) Hours of Work / Weeks per year / Working Pattern:
17.5 Hours per week / 39 weeks per year/ daily during term time (subject to change depending on the needs of the school) Main Place of Work: St Athan Primary School JOB PURPOSE: To work under the instruction and guidance of teaching and or members of the school leadership team.

To support individuals and groups of pupils to enable access to learning.

To assist the teacher in the management of pupils within the classroom and beyond.

About you The LSA should be appropriately qualified: Experience:

Working with or caring for children of relevant age.

Working when required with pupils with additional needs and/or medical needs.

Qualifications:

NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience e.g.

Training in relevant strategies to support learning.

First aid training as appropriate.

Knowledge/Skills

Effective use of ICT to support learning.

Use of other equipment and basic technology, e.g. video, photocopier.

Understanding of relevant policies/code of practice and awareness of relevant legislation.

General understanding of national/foundation phase, curriculum 14 - 19 pathways, and other basic learning programmes/strategies as appropriate.

Basic understanding of child development and learning.

Ability to relate well to children and adults.

Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.
