Job summary

Torfaen County Borough Council is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join Croesyceiliog School on a term-time basis. The role is 30 hours per week over 39 weeks per year, at Grade 4.

You will support pupils in and out of class, providing tailored assistance to learners with varied needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in a mainstream school or specialist behaviour setting, with knowledge of child development and barriers to learning.

Qualifications

• Experience in mainstream school or specialist behaviour setting.
• Knowledge of child development and barriers to learning.
• Ability to work with pupils individually or in groups.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually or in groups on teacher-planned work.
• Provide 121 support and classroom assistance.
• Liaise with parents/carers to keep them informed of behaviour and progress.
• Encourage pupils to stay engaged and on task.
• Work within a busy support team to meet pupil needs.
